Optimointi.com vs SEOmoz.com
We usually speak finnish in this blog, but today we have a blog post in english for the english speaking SEO community. I´m comparing this site which is a finnish webmasters and SEO online community with two international SEO web sites. This can be done because SEOmoz just released site statistics comparing SEOmoz.com and shoemoney.com. I thought it would be both interesting and fun to compare these well known SEO sites with our small, but biggest SEO community here in Finland.
And it would be interesting to see some more comparing stats from other countries too. We finns compete with the swedes in almost everything from hockey, rally, biggest cell phone makers etc. so why not see who has a bigger SEO community too 
. Maybe Jim can publish and share some stats from Sweden? If you have comparing data, please put a link here or maybe at SEOmoz were you propably will get some more attention! And what can I say about the comparsion? Well, Finland is small and so is the SEO community in our country!
Here´s a comparison of links. As randfish pointed out in his blog entry that there’s only two sources that are reliable for accurate link count numbers – Yahoo! and Technorati. Yahoo! measures all links on the web that Yahoo!’s spidered and Technorati reviews the links from the blogosphere.

Shoemoney – 25,513 inlinks to the domain
SEOmoz – 178,269 inlinks to the domain
Optimointi.com – 13,470 inlinks to the domain
Technorati data
Shoemoney – 6,111 links from 3,187 blogs
SEOmoz – 8,998 links from 2,540 blogs
Optimointi.com – 7 links from 5 blogs
The Technocrati data shows that we finns don´t use Technorati that much. We are more used to a local service called “The blog list”, blogilista.

If we dig a little more into the web site statistics we can see what people do on our site. What are we interested in? Nice to see (I´m somewhat suprised) that the blog receives as much traffic as the forum.
Here we see that optimointi.com has loyal and returning visitors. When looking at the keywords that bring visitors to optimointi.com we see that they are mostly SEO related.

I’ll have to say the figures are far from being comparable as there are differences in statistical tools (and settings), not to mention site structure (forums generate lots more pageviews than blogs)…
